I love looking back and remembering when my favorite song came out. I was dancing around my living room with my best friend amber listening to the radio when the DJ came on announcing a new song by the spice girls, "If you wanna be my lover".
We turned it up and starting dancing around the room singing and laughing. My mom walked in and just shook her head. She kept telling us to turn down the music and to do our homework. All we wanted to do was play it over and over again.
My mom might not have liked it at the time but now she thinks back and laughs at what fools we were making of our selves. She then sat down to tell me about the way she reacted to her favorite song when she was my age.
As she went on I sat there and thought of how funny it would be to see my mom doing these things she was telling me. It made me think of how much times had changed from when she was young to when I was. It also made me think okay if that much can change in a short period of time what would it be like and what music would be out when I had kids of my own and they were teenagers.
Music has changed rapidly over the course of years, and even months. Things our parents liked we might have thought was super old and things our kids one day will like might be something weird to us. Our kids will one day think what we listen to today is really old and lame. Time goes on and things change but one thing that doesn't is there will always be some kind of music and kids will be there loving it and dancing around having fun and parents will just wonder what happened to the good old music from there younger days.
